Enjoy the beautiful nature in Lauwersmeer National Park. Take a long walk, jump on your bike or go on the water. The Lauwersmeer area has a lot to offer. Besides birdwatching, quietness, and space, in Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer you can experience the darkness of the night and with a bit of luck admire the beautiful starry sky. This is because Nationaal Park Lauwersmeer was officially declared a Dark Sky Park in October 2016. A Dark Sky Park is an area where it is dark, where the darkness is preserved and where visitors are welcome at night to experience that darkness and to see the starry sky.
